CLERGY PERSONNEL
With the approval of the Archbishop, facilitates and processes assignment changes of Priests and Deacons, assuring that parishes and other clergy-dependent ministries are appropriately staffed. Also maintains current statistical and general information about clergy.
CLERGY SUPPORT & ONGOING FORMATION
Cares for the health and wellbeing of the clergy throughout the Archdiocese and supports priests in their lifelong personal, theological, and spiritual formation. Also provides resources and programming for the clergy, including workshops, lectures, convocations, retreats, sabbaticals, pilgrimages, and socials.
PERMANENT DIACONATE
Manages the administration and application process for men who are discerning a vocation to the diaconate.
DIACONAL LIFE & FORMATION
Oversees the training and formation of men preparing for ordination to the Permanent Diaconate.
PARISH SERVICES
Assists pastors and parish staff in managing parish operations
Parish Financial Services offers guidance on financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
Property Management provides parishes with guidance, direction, project management, and oversight for maintenance, renovations, new construction, insurance claims, hazardous material handling and disposal, etc.
Parish Support & Emergencies provides emergency financial assistance to parishes.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Provides a range of services including recruiting, new hire orientation, performance management, employee relations, etc.
RISK MANAGEMENT & INSURANCE
Supports Diocesan institutions participating in insurance and risk management programs, including risk identification, analysis and assessment, fire alarm system maintenance, inspections, actuarial analysis, and crisis management.
FINANCE & ACCOUNTING
Provides accounting services for numerous Archdiocesan entities including the management of an internal audit process. Manages the investment process of Archdiocesan investment funds, etc.
PASTORAL PLANNING
Under the direction of the Archbishop of Boston, coordinates a planning process to help the Archdiocese grow in our ability to discern and serve the mission of Christ into the future. Keeps accurate statistical information, helping pastoral leaders and pastoral councils to plan realistically to meet the spiritual, formation, sacramental and outreach needs of their people.
OFFICE OF WORSHIP AND SPIRITUAL LIFE
Fosters genuine spiritual and liturgical renewal in the Archdiocese by promoting the foundational elements of the Catholic spiritual and liturgical tradition. Assists in the ongoing work of conversion and liturgical worship, and helps coordinate evangelization programs such as Why Catholic? that are directed at adults who seek to deepen the Catholic faith experience and cultivate a more intimate friendship with Christ.
OFFICE OF OUTREACH AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY
Promotes education, communication, and the integration of different cultures and faith expressions in the life of the Church. Within this office, the Airport/Seaport Chaplaincy provides a ministry of presence at Logan Airport by offering Masses, confessions, etc. for visitors, travelers, and Massport employees. The Deaf Apostolate provides the deaf Catholic community with the resources and services that enable them to fully participate in the life of the Catholic Church. Includes interpreter services, Mass in American Sign Language, access to special events, etc. The Office for Persons with Disabilities collaborates with pastors and parishes in assuring Sacramental access for children and adults with disabilities and provides strategies, referral resources, and information on improving access, inclusion, and participation for Catholics with disabilities.
HISPANIC MINISTRY
Supports the ministry of those helping Hispanics in the Archdiocese come closer to Christ and His Church. Provides information about parishes offering Masses and other Church programs in the Spanish language.
MARRIAGE MINISTRIES
Prepares couples to enter into the sacrament of marriage, and supports and encourages married couples as they live out their vows. Works in partnership with NFP ministry, which teaches couples legitimate methods for preventing pregnancy that honor Church teaching on the gift of human sexuality and fertility.
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION (RCIA)
Welcomes those interested in becoming Catholic or entering into full communion with the Catholic Church through a process of education, faith sharing, and rituals marked by prayer, study, and discussion.

MASSACHUSETTS CATHOLIC CONFERENCE (MCC)
Assists the bishops of the four Roman Catholic Dioceses in the Commonwealth by giving witness to spiritual values in public affairs. Analyzes the social and moral dimensions of public policy issues and works to educate the public and lawmakers on Catholic social teaching to develop sound public policy that seeks the common good of all Massachusetts citizens and the interests of Catholics.
BEREAVEMENT AND HEALTH CARE MINISTRY
In partnership with the Hospital and Prison Ministries, supports the women and men who provide pastoral care to patients and their families and loved ones in health care facilities, also the incarcerated in local prisons within the Archdiocese. Collaborates with and helps provide services for parishes in their outreach to the homebound sick and aged, the dying, and nursing home residents.
PRO-LIFE OFFICE
Provides direct services through its Pregnancy Help crisis pregnancy center and its Project Rachel post-abortion ministry in an effort to build a culture of life in the Archdiocese. Also offers educational outreach and training through its Respect Life Education program.

OFFICE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Promotes excellence in catechesis and cultivates lifelong Christian formation of the total person in heart, mind and will and fosters a deep and systematic knowledge of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS OFFICE (CSO)
Serves 43,000 students (grades Pre-K through 12) through a network of 122 schools in the Archdiocese of Boston. Offers an education that combines academic excellence and Catholic faith formation to ensure lifelong learning and the development of responsible and compassionate citizens.
OFFICE FOR NEW EVANGELIZATION OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS (ONE)
Forms Disciples of Christ and His Church through a unified vision for ministry to young people, from early adolescence through young adulthood. Also coordinates Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Athletic Ministry activities throughout the Archdiocese.
COLLEGE CAMPUS MINISTRY
Serves as the liaison among 21 public and private colleges and universities within the Archdiocese, coordinating campus ministry efforts on behalf of the Catholic Church for young men and women of faith at critical points in their faith journeys.
VOCATIONS OFFICE
Seeks to increase the numbers responding to God’s call to the priesthood through promoting a culture open to authentic discernment, a true sense of vocation, and a life of friendship with God.
CARDINAL’S OFFICE
Supports the Cardinal and his work throughout the Archdiocese of Boston.
VICAR GENERAL & MODERATOR OF THE CURIA
Assists Seán P. Cardinal O’Malley in articulating his vision for the Archdiocese and bringing it into effect in the Church of Boston. Responsible for the administration and leadership of the close to 2 million Catholics in 288 parishes across the Archdiocese, as well as oversight and leadership for the central ministries of the Archdiocese.
CANONICAL AFFAIRS
Manages all canon law inquiries from parishes and institutions of the Archdiocese as well as from various departments within the Pastoral Center. Assists in drafting policies for the Archdiocese, schedules confirmations, and oversees distribution of faculties to Priests from outside the Archdiocese.
CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE
Responsible for the financial management and administration of the Archdiocese, including budgeting, accounting, financial management and reporting, cash management, investments, risk management, MIS, benefits, human resources, cemeteries, real estate and facilities
EPISCOPAL VICAR FOR THE NEW EVANGELIZATION
The efforts of the Office of the Episcopal Vicar for the New Evangelization are centered on promoting and training individuals in the parishes to seek personal conversion in order that they might become conduits of God’s love – dynamic witnesses of a joy-filled, Catholic life – for their families, friends, co-workers, neighbors and fellow parishioners.
REGIONAL BISHOPS
Support the work of the Archbishop of Boston in their respective regions.
DELEGATE FOR RELIGIOUS
Serves as the liaison between the Cardinal and the congregations of men and women religious who reside and/or serve in the Archdiocese. Coordinates events and programs of interest to the religious congregations of the Archdiocese, supports Vocations to the Consecrated Life for those who commit themselves to live the evangelical counsels in an institute approved by the Church.

ARCHIVES
Collects, preserves, and makes available all records of enduring value which pertain to the Catholic Church in Boston. It is regarded by many as a dependable resource for those interested in the history and culture of Catholicism in Boston and New England as a whole.
GENERAL COUNSEL
Serves as the in-house General Counsel for the Archdiocese. Provides legal advice and review on a variety of issues for parishes, schools, and related entities.
COMMUNICATIONS & PUBLIC AFFAIRS
Assists the Cardinal in implementing a comprehensive communications strategy for matters relating to the Catholic Church across the Archdiocese. Serves as the official voice for the Archdiocese, liaises with public officials on Church-related matters, and coordinates media responses, statements, and press releases.
INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT
Encourages Catholics and those in the general community to support the many ministries of the Catholic Church utilizing various means to spread the good news of the Church's mission and works. Processes gifts of various types and ensures donor intentions are fulfilled.
FINANCE & ACCOUNTING

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Provides information technology, computer, and network support for the Pastoral Center and other offsite locations. Also offers technology guidance to parishes, schools, and agencies throughout the Archdiocese.
ECUMENICAL & INTERRELIGIOUS AFFAIRS
Represents Cardinal Seán and the Archdiocese to other churches and faith groups including MASS Council of Churches, Lutheran Synod, JCRC other Jewish organizations, and the Islamic Council of New England.
TRIBUNAL
Serves as the Ecclesiastical Court of the Archdiocese of Boston and is charged with the administration of justice, as a court of first instance and as an appellate court, for matters of the public good brought before the Church. Investigates cases of marriage nullities, causes of Saints, and other penal matters.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY & OVERSIGHT OFFICE
Assists promoting and maintaining professional standards for all who minister and work on behalf of the Archdiocese of Boston. A special focus of the office will be continuing the work of the Archdiocese in assuring protection for children.
